On September 20, 2024, a book exhibition was organized at the Republican Children's Library named after F. Kocharli.
September 20 marks the one-year anniversary of the liberation of the cities of Khankendi, Khojaly, Khojavend, and Agdara from Armenian separatists.
According to a decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev, September 20 will be observed annually as "State Sovereignty Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan."
The exhibition featured books and periodical materials that highlighted historical events related to Azerbaijan's achievement of State Sovereignty, including the April and Tovuz battles, the glorious victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, and the path of our martyrs.
On September 19, 2023, an anti-terror operation was launched in the Karabakh economic region of Azerbaijan to prevent large-scale provocations by Armenia, disarm the remnants of Armenian armed forces, remove them from our territories, and restore the constitutional order of the Republic of Azerbaijan in those areas. The operation lasted only 23 hours and was completed on September 20. As a result, the heroic Azerbaijani Army successfully completed all the tasks set before it with high professionalism. Thus, following another brilliant victory, the sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan was fully restored. Thanks to this glorious victory, today the flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan proudly waves in all areas where our sovereignty has been established. Exactly one year ago, the heroic Azerbaijani Army fully restored the state sovereignty. As a result of an anti-terror operation lasting less than one day, the root of the separatists was eradicated, Azerbaijan ensured its full state sovereignty, international law triumphed, and Azerbaijan once again demonstrated its strength.
