In January 2024, the 140th anniversary of the birth of the prominent public and political figure, one of the founders of the Azerbaijan People's Republic, Mahammad Amin Rasulzada is celebrated. On this occasion, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, signed a decree to mark the 140th anniversary of M.A. Rasulzada. As part of the events outlined in the decree, on June 12, 2024, the Republican Children's Library named after F. Kocharli, in collaboration with M. Rahim Secondary School No. 7, organized a knowledge competition titled “Freedom for People, Independence for Nations”, dedicated to M.A. Rasulzada's 140th anniversary, within the framework of the "Open Lesson - Open Mind" project.

The event, which began in the school foyer, featured a composition presented by senior students, portraying the figures of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, Nariman Narimanov, F.Kocharli, M.A. Rasulzada, Adolf Hitler, and S.Ummugulsum. Alongside the performances, a book exhibition showcasing relevant information about each figure was also displayed.

After a moment of silence to honor the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, and the performance of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan, the school's director Konul Tahmazova officially opened the event.

The knowledge competition featured esteemed jurors from the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) A.A. Baku Khanov Institute of History and Ethnology, including Natiq Mammadzada, PhD in History, Associate Professor, Mubariz Aghalarli, PhD in History, Associate Professor, Lamia Sultanova, Researcher, and Zahira Dadashova, Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs at the Republican Children's Library. Each jury member shared additional information with the students and emphasized the importance of such events. They discussed the significance of educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism, respect for their people, and devotion to their ancestral traditions.

The competition, which involved 8th-grade students, was evaluated by the jury, with Ali Hajizada, a student from the school, being awarded first place for answering all the questions comprehensively and accurately. The Director of the Republican Children's Library, Shahla Qambarova, an Honored Worker of Culture, expressed her gratitude to the school administration, teachers, and students and presented Ali Hajizada with a diploma and a gift on behalf of the library.

At the conclusion of the event, the school students performed the songs “Incebellim” (from the film Dada Qorqud, lyrics by Anar, music by E. Sabitoghlu) and “Chirpinirdi, Qara deniz” (by A.Javad, music by U.Hajibeyli).

The event ended with a photo session to capture the memorable moments.
