On May 27, 2024, a roundtable discussion titled "Independent Azerbaijan" was held within the framework of a collaboration between the 2nd branch of the Republican Children's Library and School No. 265.
At the event organized at the school, the participants first observed a one-minute silence in honor of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for the territorial integrity of our homeland. Following this, a representative from the Republic Children's Library welcomed the attendees and provided detailed information about May 28 – Independence Day.
106 years ago, on May 28, 1918, the founding of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic marked a major historical event in our country's history. The newly established Azerbaijan People's Republic successfully undertook and fulfilled the difficult historical tasks it was faced with. Our great leader, Heydar Aliyev, repeatedly emphasized that the democratic state of Azerbaijan that we are building today owes its existence to the Azerbaijan People's Republic. As Heydar Aliyev stated about the historical significance of the Azerbaijan People's Republic: "We have declared the day of the establishment of the first democratic republic as our national holiday, the day of Azerbaijan's state independence – Republic Day."
At the end of the event, the library staff presented an exhibition titled "Independent Azerbaijan", and students participated in taking commemorative photographs.
