On September 18, 2024, the Republican Children's Library named after F. Kocharli opened a book exhibition in celebration of "September 18 - National Music Day."
In 1995, by the decree of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, the 110th anniversary of the birth of the renowned composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli was marked, and it was decided that September 18 would be observed as National Music Day. The Azerbaijani people have an ancient musical tradition, and Uzeyir Hajibeyli's role in the development of our music is significant. His symphonic works have been performed and highly praised in many countries. The celebration of National Music Day is closely connected to his name.
The library staff shared information with students about the famous composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli's opera "Koroghlu," as well as details about his life and creative work. It was emphasized that "The achievements of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, a prominent figure in the recognition of our music at the world level, are undeniable. The composer laid the foundation for opera not only in our country but also throughout the entire Middle East. This day is a holiday not only for music lovers but for all our people, as the Azerbaijani people will forever keep Uzeyir Hajibeyli in their hearts and continue to honor his legacy."
