On August 30, the presentation ceremony of the book "Climate is in Your Hands," translated from Ukrainian into Azerbaijani, held at the Republican Children's Library named after F. Kocharli. The event was attended by Yuriy Husyev, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Azerbaijan, Serhiy Nagornyak, a Ukrainian Member of Parliament, Kamala Aliyarova, an employee of the Ministry of Culture, Shamil Sadig, Director of the Hadaf Group of Companies and Associate Professor, Karim Tahirov, Director of the National Library of Azerbaijan, as well as schoolchildren and Ukrainian children.
The book "Climate is in Your Hands," authored by Katerina Terletska and Dmitro Kuzmenkov, was published by Hadaf Publications with the support of the Ukrainian Translation Institute. It presents 17 experiments to help understand climate change, along with instructions and materials needed for each experiment.
The event began with an opening speech by the director of the library, Honored Worker of Culture Shahla Gambarova, who noted that the book would make an important contribution to children and teenagers within the framework of the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World," declared by President Ilham Aliyev.
Yuriy Husyev, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Azerbaijan, expressed his gratitude to the Azerbaijani people and the library leadership for the presentation of the book translated from Ukrainian into Azerbaijani and the introduction of the Ukrainian book collection. He emphasized that efforts would continue to strengthen the friendship between Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
Ukrainian Member of Parliament Serhiy Nagornyak expressed his pleasure at visiting Baku. He mentioned that the book, written by young Ukrainian scientists and authors, features experiments for children and knowledge on environmental protection. He believes that this book will be a valuable contribution to the upcoming COP-29 event.
Shamil Sadig, the founder and director of the Hadaf Group of Companies, provided detailed information about the book, thanking the authors, translators, and publishers for their high professionalism. He also recommended the book for those who wish to have fun during the summer vacation while gaining knowledge based on theoretical experiments.
The experiments selected from the book "Climate is in Your Hands" by students of Hadaf Lyceum were met with great interest at the event.
At the end of the event, an exhibition of books based on Ukrainian children's literature was held at the Republic Children's Library, and photographs were taken for souvenirs.
