On July 8, 2025, as part of the “READ, CREATE, WIN” Summer Festival, the Republican Children’s Library hosted a storytelling hour under the title “Let’s Open the Door to a Magical World with Beloved Fairy Tales.”
The guest of the storytelling hour, held under the motto “READ - Travel to the magical world of books!”, was the well-known children's author and publicist Gulzar Ibrahimova. Third-grade students of School-Lyceum No. 83 in the Binagadi district, along with other young readers, took part in the literary meeting.
In the first part of the event, a library staff member gave the students information about Gulzar Ibrahimova’s life, her creative work, and her contribution to children's literature. Then, the writer read excerpts from her own stories and engaged in a discussion with the children about the themes of the tales. She spoke about her works such as “The Strongest in the World,” “The Tale of the Lazy One,” “The Little Fox,” “The Treasure of Fire,” “The Seven Tales of the Rainbow Brothers,” and others. The students also read their favorite passages from various fairy tales and asked the author interesting questions.
In the creative part of the event, students presented drawings inspired by characters from the author's stories and performed music pieces on the piano.
It should be noted that the main goal of organizing the storytelling hour was to increase children's interest in reading, enrich their imagination, and develop their creative skills.
